A UK manufacturer of parts for motorsports, supercars and F1 teams, has been acquired by an Indian group, in a transaction advised by BCMS.
Hampshire-based prototyping specialist BRP Composites has been making carbon fibre, glass fibre and Kevlar components – predominantly for the supercar, motorsports and F1 industry – since 2001, and has grown to become a leading subcontractor in its field.
The deal sees BRP join Tritech Group of Wrexham – a UK subsidiary of India’s Neterwala Group – for an undisclosed sum.
Tritech Group Managing Director Ian Walker said: “We have been looking for an automotive prototyping specialist for some time, as there is significant crossover with our core aerospace business. BRP Composites has a superb track record and cutting-edge engineering skills, which will benefit our combined customer base with new innovative products.â€
BRP founding director Neale Blunden commented: “Being part of a bigger group means we can accelerate our growth plans, and launch into new markets. I would like to thank BCMS for introducing us to Tritech and helping us negotiate to this successful conclusion.â€
Mr Blunden was advised by BCMS with legal advice from Freeths.
BCMS Deal Leader Scott Jones added: “BRP has a great deal of expertise in specialist composites prototyping to reduce weight and energy use of components, and attracted significant interest from potential acquirers. But the strong synergies between Tritech and BRP made them a perfect match early on, and we are delighted to see these negotiations cross the finishing line.
